Since the beginning of 2017, the UN and partners successfully delivered multi-sectoral assistance through inter-agency operations, reaching more than 730,200 people in besieged and hard-to-reach areas with dire humanitarian needs. A total of 30 inter-agency convoys have been undertaken, including one to Khan Elshih in which UNRWA and UN agencies reached 5,000 Palestine Refugees and 1,000 Syrian Nationals respectively. In addition, during 2017, 121 WFP-led airdrops dispatched 2,499.1 metric tons of food supplies for the besieged parts of Deir-ez-Zor city. Airdrops for the seventh round of food distribution for 93,500 people started on 5 June. Airlift operations were phased out on 25 June after overland access via Aleppo was restored. During 2017, 10,382.7 metric tons of food, WASH, nutrition, health and NFIs for Al-Hasakeh and Ar-Raqqa governorates were airlifted to Quamishli on behalf of the UN and partners.
