Since the beginning of 2017, the UN and partners successfully delivered multi-sectoral assistance through inter-agency operations, reaching more than 680,000 people in besieged and hard-to-reach areas with dire humanitarian needs. A total of 18 inter-agency convoys have been undertaken, including one to Khan Elshih in which UNRWA and UN agencies reached 5,000 Palestine Refugees and 1,000 Syrian Nationals respectively. In addition, during 2017, 77 WFP-led airdrops dispatched 1,587.9 metric tons of food supplies for the besieged parts of Deir-ez-Zor city. The seventh round of food distribution for 93,500 people began on 17 May. During 2017, 227 airlifts to Quamishli have delivered 8,221.1 metric tons of food, WASH, nutrition, health and NFIs on behalf of the UN and partners.
